Our explorations for second half of Summer Term 2024

We are currently busy exploring minibeasts. We have been thinking how clever bees are at making honey for us which we enjoy eating at snack time. We have created a spider’s web with paints and marbles and counted how many legs spiders have. Our caterpillars have arrived so we will be observing and nurturing them until they turn into butterflies at which point we will release them into nature. We still have worms, frogs, snails, slugs and ladybirds to explore.

We have continued to be visited by Lucy rabbit who is helping us to develop our listening and concentration skills

We have also been exploring colours of the rainbow along with a, b, c, d, e, f letter sounds

Our vegetables are growing really well in our garden area. We are busy keeping them watered. Hopefully our potatoes will be ready before the end of our summer term. We have also been learning about creating our own compost for our garden. This has involved us learning about recycling.

If you would like any further information on any of the above please speak with Paula or Andrea

Lunch Boxes and drinks

We discuss during our lunch time session healthy eating and oral health. Dentists are reporting on the number of children under the age of 5 that have severe tooth decay. We know it is difficult but if possible can children please not have sugary drinks in their drinks bottles. We provide fresh water throughout the day and are able to provide water during lunch time so children do not necessarily have to bring drinks with them for lunch

Facebook

Our trustees are trying to develop a presence on Facebook for our parents as a way of sharing information. If you are interested in this please visit our Facebook page. We will not be sharing any photographs on this page

Emergency Contact Details

Can we please ask that you ensure we have your up to date contact and emergency contact details and that any changes to mobile phone numbers are notified to us

Thank you

Sun cream and Hats

As we are all aware it is so important for our children to enjoy outdoor fun safely during the summer months. Could we please ask that children have with them named sun cream and a hat. We will ensure children have the cream applied by a member of staff before outdoor play

Nursery Library

Please feel free to borrow any of nursery books that are in the red box in the reception area. There is a little book for you to note down which book you have borrowed, the date taken and return date

We also like seeing you reading the books with your children in our reception area whilst waiting for your sessions to start. As we all know reading and listening to stories is so important for children’s development
